
GLENDORA, CA – Armstrong Garden Centers, the largest independent garden center chain in the United States, has selected The Christopher Group to lead their Director of Purchasing and Merchandising search. Managing Partners Pam Noble and Tobin Anselmi are leading the crucial search.

The Director of Purchasing and Merchandising is a new strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement function across a multi-state retail footprint, managing all buying activities for both live and hard goods categories. This leader will develop and execute a data-driven purchasing strategy, optimize vendor partnerships, and drive strong in-stock performance while ensuring margin-focused decision making that supports overall business objectives. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, store operations, and suppliers, the role blends high-level strategy with hands-on execution to deliver regionally relevant assortments, enhance inventory performance, and support profitable growth.
