GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA – Impex Auto, the third largest independent car dealer in North Carolina, has placed Shawn Reed as their new Human Resources Director. Managing Partner, Tobin Anselmi and Recruiting Director, Nick Nelson led and placed the crucial search.

As the new HR Director, Shawn will be working to build-out and lead their human resources efforts. Shawn will sit on their senior leadership team and work directly with the CEO and other leaders/ managers on a daily basis, advising them on both tactical and strategic best people practices. He will utilize his skills as a mentor and coach to develop and implement structured HR practices, policies, and systems. Shawn will also rely on his leadership abilities to manage and develop a Human Resources department which will grow in unison with the company.
Shawn Reed brings over 12 years of comprehensive HR experience. He has a proven track record in managing HR operations, including employee relations, strategic planning, benefits analysis, and career counseling. Shawn has successfully implemented HR initiatives that have enhanced staff retention, operational efficiency, and employee engagement. He most recently served as Human Resources Manager at AutoNation, where he oversaw HR services for over 1,500 employees, introduced an associate engagement program, and significantly reduced turnover rates.
Prior to AutoNation, Shawn held HR leadership roles at BMW Manufacturing, MAU, Sallyport Global, and served in the United States Army. His expertise spans program management, policy development, performance improvement, and legal compliance. With a strong focus on critical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic HR initiatives, Shawn is well-equipped to lead Impex Auto’s HR operations and support its continued success.
