Biography

For more than 25 years Joe has provided consulting services to various high technology, manufacturing, financial services, health care, and personal services companies throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. An area of particular emphasis is his design and implementation of leadership assessment and development programs throughout the world.  This included providing coaching to executives and managers throughout North America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific, along with leading a team of leadership coaches.  His focus on partnering with each client by thoroughly understanding their strategy, situation, and needs have allowed him to provide solutions that have measurable, and long-lasting, impacts.

Prior to consulting, he held a variety of Human Resources positions in a major retail company, and then in two large telecommunications companies.  In these positions, Joe established and directed succession planning and leadership readiness programs.  He was also responsible for designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining assessment and performance management programs for sales, customer service, technical, and various supervisory positions.

Joe received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and his Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior from the University of Nebraska.  He is a Licensed Psychologist and has been involved with the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) throughout his career.  He is published in several journals and has presented at numerous conferences including SIOP and the Association for Talent Development (ASTD).  Joe currently lives in Chesterfield, MO (a suburb of St. Louis) with his wife Sarah, who is a school librarian.  With a Journalism degree from the University of Missouri, his son Kevin is a consultant/writer with a web design company, while his daughter Molly is completing her degree in Food Science at the University of Minnesota.
