CHICAGO, IL – Home Run Inn, home of Chicago’s Best Pizza, has once again selected The Christopher Group to lead a Director of Operations search. President & Managing Director, Erin Merker and Recruiting Director, Jeff Wilbanks are leading the critical search.
The Director of Operations will have a variety of responsibilities but their success over the first year will be dependent on three key accomplishments. First, they must build out their team and organizational structure by establishing strong relationships built on trust and challenging the status quo. Second, they must establish a lean manufacturing mindset by maximizing efficiencies throughout the facility, improving quality control processes, and establishing a culture of root cause analysis and continuous improvement throughout our plant operations. Third, the Director of Operations will be expected to incorporate safety into everyday culture. Becoming intentional and deliberate on a daily basis will allow Home Run Inn to get ready to take the next steps in dominating a second US city!
Home Run Inn is a proud, fourth-generation family-owned business that competes in both the restaurant and frozen food industries. In 1923, the original Home Run Inn location opened as a small tavern on Chicago’s South Side. Founded by Mary and Vincent Grittani, the tavern received its name one fateful day when a baseball from the neighborhood park smashed through one of the tavern’s windows, a home run for some young slugger on the sandlot. In 1947, after that baseball made history, Mary and her son-in-law, Nick Perrino, crafted the iconic Chicago pizza recipe known today. Home Run Inn pizzas are made with all-natural ingredients and can be enjoyed from one of nine locations and also from retailers throughout the nation.
